Brian Rogers

Associate Director, Mathematics

Brian is an expert in teaching mathematics at all grade levels. He is adept at reworking curriculum to find the most effective way to teach math standards aligned to Next Generation Standards. He has the ability to understand the spirit of the Modules, and to find a way to adjust lessons with instruction that is relatable in the classroom.

Brian joined the Network in April of 2016.  Prior to joining the team, Brian taught for eight years in the Capital District including four years at Brighter Choice Charter Middle School for Boys. He taught 5th and 6th grade math and science during his time at Brighter Choice, but also enjoyed the many opportunities to help develop the young men there through a variety of character education programs. He has also taught at Rensselaer Park Elementary School in the Lansingburgh District, Myers Middle School and Albany High School. Brian holds a BA in Mathematics from SUNY Purchase, and MS in Childhood Ed from the Sage Colleges, and Grades 1-6 Childhood Education Certification in New York. Brian lives in Latham with his wife Nikki and their two boys, Gavin and Jaxon. He and his family are enthusiastic supporters of the Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region, 4th Family Inc.’s STEM Education Program, and Wine and Dine for the Arts, and their efforts to rejuvenate Albany through compassion, arts and education.
