Carmen Diaz

Associate Director, Elementary Learning

Prior to joining the Network, Carmen taught in elementary classrooms in the state of Connecticut. Carmen has extensive expertise in differentiation, curriculum writing and implementation, and incorporating technology into education. Carmen has created further learning opportunities for students, including enrichment courses, intervention support, differentiated resources, and helping students to grow in both academic and social areas. She worked closely with the Curriculum Director of Cheshire Public Schools to write curriculum units from grades K-6. As a Google Educator, Carmen has incorporated technological resources into all facets of learning. Carmen was also served as a resource for teachers and staff in best practices for teaching English as a New Language. Carmen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Connecticut. She also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University and is certified K-6 and 7-12 with a Secondary English focus.
