Director, Communications and Advocacy
Prior to joining the Albany Charter School Network, Dan worked for the Brighter Choice Foundation in Albany, NY where he was responsible for the development and implementation of a civic education program taught at the middle and high school levels at several of Albany’s charter schools. In his role as Director of Public Affairs for the Network, Dan manages projects for member schools ranging from marketing, branding, advertising, communications, social media, press & media relations, outreach & advocacy, parent engagement, fundraising & development, and governance support. Much of Dan’s previous professional experience has been in government and community service – from the City of Albany’s Summer Youth Employment Program at the Albany City Clerk’s Office, to internships for state economic development agencies. Dan received a Bachelor of Science in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and would like to someday attend business school to earn an MBA. During his time at Cornell, Dan pursued many service opportunities, most notably becoming a teacher at The Global Child School in Siem Reap, Cambodia. While overseas, he taught everything from English, to math and science, economics and business, and piano.
