Jon Piraino

Director, Academics


Prior to joining the Network, Jon taught mathematics at his alma mater, Shenendehowa High School, in Clifton Park, New York. He was previously a high school math teacher at Camp Hill High School in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. In addition to his duties at the Network, Jon functions as a professional learning consultant with Math Solutions, a division of Scholastic Inc. In this capacity, Jon provides on-site professional development to middle- and high-school teachers throughout the country. These sessions are designed to provide effective and engaging strategies to implement Common Core mathematical instructions. Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University at Albany, where he majored in Mathematics. He also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from The Sage Colleges, where he was named the “Most Outstanding Student.” In his spare time, Jon enjoys coaching premier level soccer with the Albany Alleycats in Albany, New York.
