As Chief Development Officer of Northern Rivers Family Services, Sari O’Connor is the primary public face of the agency. Her responsibilities include strategic planning, management and execution of fundraising activities to benefit the programs and services of Northeast Parent & Child Society and Parsons Child and Family Center. Over the past six years, her innovative fundraising and awareness building activities have been a driving force in the growth and revitalization of special events, appeals, major gifts, corporate giving and foundation grants. As a member of the senior management team, she works to provide oversight to agency programs, administration and policy implementation. A Cum Laude graduate of Adelphi University, Ms. O’Connor earned her Master’s Degree in Education from SUNY Stony Brook and a Certificate of Completion in Human Resources from Indiana/Purdue University. She began her career in service to children as an elementary school teacher and later engaged many of our region’s new residents as Director of Relocation Services for a local real estate firm. In addition to supporting numerous educational, artistic and philanthropic endeavors, Sari has served as a Mayoral appointee on the City of Albany Planning Board, Charter Review Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. Since 2004, Sari has been the volunteer chair of “A Community of Excellence” at The College of Saint Rose, which funds student scholarships and currently serves as a member of the Brighter Choice Foundation Board of Directors. In 2011, she was named a “Woman of Achievement” by YWCA NorthEastern New York. Ms. O’Connor and her husband, Kevin, live in Albany with their three children.
